Meralco Boy

Blake Lively (c) Image from Web
It was a rainy Wednesday morning when I go to office earlier the usual. On my third transfer of jeepney, a boylet just brighten up the gloomy day. I am spotting the name in his uniform yet I didn't had the luck 'til we reach the drop off point. I am clueless with his A.H.MA.... initials. We transferred to another jeepney and he was there too. I finally saw his name. And I never want to mention it here. I glance at him once in a while so it won't be too obvious. There was a turn off moment though.

Meralco boy pays 20 pesos.
The driver gave him 15 pesos change and ask to return 3 pesos. (8 pesos minimum fare)
The girl pass the 15 pesos.
Meralco boy returned the 15 pesos.
The girl told him taht the driver is asking for 3 pesos.
Meralco boy says "e wala akong tres e."

Errrr. Fail!

So I left the jeepney pissed off. I thought I was over him until I saw him again in the next jeepney. He looks good, yet I don't have have good impression with his attitude. From Customer Service pa naman sya. I am bothered until I said Para.

Crush Overload

Circa. 06.22.2012

I decided to join halfheartedly
But then I go home extremely happy.

When today, I met another engineer pogi
When he mention my name and I died a second
His concern is the sweetest
I got his name, yes!
Thank you God dearest.

"Pinagpupuyatan ko yan, tapos yung tile setter mas marami pang nayosi kesa sa nalagay na tiles."

Thank you, Sir!

When I passed by and you called my name
You were happy and excited as you talk to me
Your generosity I always admire
Lord, you really know how to make me smile.

Day 19 - Nicknames you have; why do you have them

I love the idea of giving names. From pets, to toys, to gadgets. From code name, to pen name, to terms of endearment. And the sweetest name you'll ever hear is yours...or not. Haha. it's one of the first thing you owned. Sometimes, you weren't born yet or your parents haven't met yet, you already have a name. After learning the strokes of alphabet, you'll immediately have to learn to write your full name. You don't want to forget your name in your test paper. When you meet a new friend, the very first thing you'll ask is his/her name. When you received a text message with unknown number, you'll ask "Who's this?" or reply the famous "Hu u?" Your name is the bida in your i.d. aside from your photo. And aminin, if you hate a person and met someone with the same name, you'll feel a bit bitterness because he/she reminds you the person you not so like. And when you met someone with the same name as yours, there's this feeling of easiness and you simply jive. Having a name is just amazing. I deeply appreciate it as a write this blog. All of us got different stories about our names. On how other people mispell and mispronounce it, on where our parents got it, or how others came up with those cute, silly nicknames for us. As for me, I got a lot of nicknames. From my first name Jessa Maye, they didn't had a hard time to play with the letters in order to give me a decent nickname.

At 22, the following are the names that I acquired:

At school, I am known as Jessa since elementary until sophomore in high school then early college years. And because, popular people also have the same name as mine, I am Jessa Zaragosa and Jessa bel, most of the time.Version: Dyeza (a college friend's pauso)

I am Maye at home. My family call me Maye, sometimes, May, even Mae. But I wasn't born on the month of May. I love the uniqueness of Maye, the combination of May and Mae. During Christmas gift giving, I rarely get the correctly spelled name in gift cards.

My high school buddy named me Esai. From the root word, Jessa, it became Esay and sometimes Esai. When someone calls me by that nickname, you'll know, he/she's a high school friend.

Jeez. Hi I'm Jez. My name transformed from Jessa to Jez/Jess/Jes back in college. I'm liking it and until now, I use it as name for social media sites.

Memae/Maemae. Paulit ulit. Market Market. Unli. My niece calls me Memae, not Tita, not Ninang, and not even Ate. It's cool, though. So another little niece copied her.

Tamae is really special to me. That one person, that great person gave it to me. I don't know how Lolo Teo came up with that name. All I know is, when someone called, oh, shouted "Tamae", it's my lolo dearest. Eventually, when I grew up, I realized that Tamae came from Tamad Mae, Tamad Tamae. Haha. Miss you, Lolo, and Lola.

I am Shamae when I'm with the family on Mama's side. I got this nickname when my cousin had a hard time saying my first name, Jessa Maye. She was three then, and so she pronounced it as Shamae. Same as with my cousin Danielle, who became Anye. Version: Chamae

Gail sounds adorable yet the memories were bit terrible. The name I had when I am puppy loving.

I actually have surname versions too. From Olores, to Olares, to Olorez, even Olors.

And talking about names, I have favorites also.

Day 17- Someone you would want to switch lives for one day and why

This another post gave me a hard time. I've been writing consecutive blogs re Project 30 Day Blog but this one gave me a writer's block. I am supposed to list down the girls I adore, but then I realized that they are the girls close to my generation and would probably doing the things I usually do. Until one day, while watching The Buzz, I got my full attention in a birthday surprise segment for one of the host. I got inspired and somehow wanted to be that woman someday. A good daughter, true friend, best mom, and loving wife. Her children are very proud as they share how great their mom is. And his pogi husband is very in love with her and wouldn't know what life is without her. She is indeed a beautiful woman inside and outside. She is Ms. Charlene Gonzales.

See video of the interview, here: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/entertainment/04/29/12/charlene-celebrates-birthday-%E2%80%98-buzz%E2%80%99#ooid=phcDJsNDogt3iDl5RlxmrV8sYi-s8mGE

I always feel glad and sometimes envy when I see my batch mates with their babies. Aside from being a Civil Engineer, one of my dream career would be being a mom, which is really the best job in the world. So if given a chance to switch lives with someone, I'd trade it with a mom. I find Charlene Gonzales, if not perfect, at least one of the best, as told by her Atasha and Andres. Yeah, I can switch lives with Mama, but I knew her close to bones, thus I prefer to be on the shoe of another mother. It's everyone's dream to have a complete, happy family, and I'm lucky to have one. And maybe 6-8 years from now, I'd love to build the family I dreamt of. :)
