Sheppard Manila

I am not a fan of the band Sheppard but I hugely adore their hit song, Geronimo. When I found out that they will be having a concert in Manila, I already included their show date in my calendar. Even though I only know one song from the band, I'd exert effort just to hear Geronimo live. The song is part of my happy, good vibes playlist.

Yesterday after work, I go immediately in MOA Music Hall to catch the 6pm showtime which I know won't start on the dot. On my way there, I listen to their spotify page. I am just in time for the pre-show wherein DJ Guji spins the popular edm tracks. On the venue, I purchase 3 Nescafé Smoovlatte worth 35php each in exchange of one ticket to get inside the barricade. Worthy enough for a great night of fun music with little dancing and jumping in between. The show started at around 8pm and lasted for an hour.

Halfway to Hell
Hold My Tongue

Let Me Down Easy
Something's Missing
These People
Rude
Flying Away
The Best Is Yet To Come
A Grade Playa
Geronimo
Lingering
Find Someone

As said, I don't know all other songs except Geronimo. Yet I have enjoyed the whole concert. Their songs are of catchy lyrics and of beautiful melody. My additional personal favorites are Let Me Down Easy, The Best Is Yet Come, and A Grade Playa.

The band is crowd friendly, appreciative, and with contagious energy. They are very admirable and easy to love.

Here's my top Sheppard concert memories.

1) George uttered a Tagalog sentence "Salamat sa pakikinig ng aming musika" (if I remember it right).
2) Amy Sheppard telling about Filipinos in their hometown in Papua New Guniea watching pera o bayong.
3) Let Me Down Easy song participation of the crowd.
4) George requesting the audience to stand low then jump high to rock and roll in the chorus of Geronimo.
5) George throwed his sweaty (but still mukang mabango) shirt in the audience.
6) Fans selfie. This has been popular in instagram for the music artists. However small are you in the photo, you'll still feel in awe to land in your idol's ig post and be part of an epic music celebration.
7) They were generous enough to grant the crowd with two encore songs after chanting "we want more".

Aaaah there's too much to love about these guys! I had a great time. PCD starts now.

The 1975 MNL

I'd rather spend my money on concerts than on traveling. Maybe because it is more emotional to travel alone than watching concert with yourself. At least when watching concerts, you are around the people who have the same taste of music and artist with you. Rather than when you travel alone, you will find yourself surrounded with group of friends, couple, or families. Hashtag hugot. Haha.

On January 24th, I attended my first concert for 2015. The 1975 MNL. Woohoo!

I first heard about their group when they visited Manila last year. There was an awesome response from social media that's why I get intrigued why this group was popular. Myx VJ Chino Lui Pio, whom I know had a great taste for music also mentioned about how good The 1975 is. Lately, I found out that Jake Cuenca and Anne Curtis were fans of the The 1975 also.

I came upon to Girls and Chocolate in Spotify's Top 100 and easily get in love with the songs. It is very timely that MMI produce their comeback concert in a bigger venue in Manila. Thus, I did not hesitate to buy tickets for the show.

Then today happened. Just another surreal, for the books, happy experience. The 1975 is incredibly awesome. Matt Healy is amazingly adorable. I love how he is very much comfortable on stage and how he reaches out to the audience. This group is on the road to more success.

Random stories are 1) founding ourselves from gen ad to upper box seat, 2) when Matty asks the crowd to keep silent and then the crowd responded sssshhh and Matty told that sssshhh is actually more noisy, 3) Matty drinking and smoking and being insane, insanely hot on stage, 4) that awkward moment when fans chant "we want sex,we want sex" which is a song from The 1975 then Matty says "you have no idea".

It was indeed a nice kick off for my concert plans for 2015. Unless I'll be able to have a jowa this year, then we choose to travel instead. Or we can still choose to watch concerts together.
Post concert depression starts today!

2. I wish I'd put more efforts on my concert ootd. I adore how some Swifties got creative and quirky. I felt old for that though. Meh
3. I left my seat and chose to stand in front of the barricade from lower box area. Below is the photo from my view.
4. I decided not to capture photos and videos because it will be out online anyway. I just enjoyed the moment.
5. I have to apologize to the Swifties beside me. If you may have heard my voice in your videos, please forgive me. I just have to sing my heart out. That was the time of my life.

9. Did that really happened? It was unreal. Take me back.

Three years ago, I chose not to watch a dream concert because of career frustration. After passing the board exam, I had a hard time searching for the first job in the industry. It was February of 2011 when Taylor Swift held her Speak Now concert in Manila and I am but a jobless fan envy with all other fan girls and boys who were able to experience the one of the best nights of their lives.
After three long years of hope, Red Tour finally comes to Asia. Taylor Swift will be breathing the same air I breathe on June 6!!!!! I just can't hide the excitement. I just heard God whispered "I told you,it'll be worth the wait. You deserve this best one." Here I am today, I had a good paying job that will allow me to buy the ticket to the show I missed three years ago.

The journey to having the precious ticket.

1. The tickets got sold out in 2 hours. I was in the ticket booth minutes after that 2 hour selling.
2. I reserved a ticket from the promoter. He confirmed my reservation. The day after, he told me it was already sold out too.
3. I bought a general admission ticket thru bidding. I bought it at almost 2x the original price. I claim the ticket at the far far away place of Las Piñas.
4. I reserved a patron pass from MOA Arena scalper. Few days before the concert, they were fired from the job.
5. I bought a lower box ticket.

The memories of #redtourmnl

Words from the dictionary aren't enough to describe how happy and grateful I am to have experience the concert. All things are just wonderful and fun and surreal. June 6 is diary worthy, one of the best life records, a story of dream come true.

1. Closest Swifties with me are my Nixter friends, officemate friend, and cousin.

6. The set list was bitin though.

8. EVERYTHING WAS JUST AWESOME AND CRAZY AND SUPERB.

After the concert.

I lost my iPhone. I rode the wrong transportation going home. Ah eh. Hihibels
