The 1975 MNL

I'd rather spend my money on concerts than on traveling. Maybe because it is more emotional to travel alone than watching concert with yourself. At least when watching concerts, you are around the people who have the same taste of music and artist with you. Rather than when you travel alone, you will find yourself surrounded with group of friends, couple, or families. Hashtag hugot. Haha.

On January 24th, I attended my first concert for 2015. The 1975 MNL. Woohoo!

I first heard about their group when they visited Manila last year. There was an awesome response from social media that's why I get intrigued why this group was popular. Myx VJ Chino Lui Pio, whom I know had a great taste for music also mentioned about how good The 1975 is. Lately, I found out that Jake Cuenca and Anne Curtis were fans of the The 1975 also.

I came upon to Girls and Chocolate in Spotify's Top 100 and easily get in love with the songs. It is very timely that MMI produce their comeback concert in a bigger venue in Manila. Thus, I did not hesitate to buy tickets for the show.

Then today happened. Just another surreal, for the books, happy experience. The 1975 is incredibly awesome. Matt Healy is amazingly adorable. I love how he is very much comfortable on stage and how he reaches out to the audience. This group is on the road to more success.

Random stories are 1) founding ourselves from gen ad to upper box seat, 2) when Matty asks the crowd to keep silent and then the crowd responded sssshhh and Matty told that sssshhh is actually more noisy, 3) Matty drinking and smoking and being insane, insanely hot on stage, 4) that awkward moment when fans chant "we want sex,we want sex" which is a song from The 1975 then Matty says "you have no idea".

It was indeed a nice kick off for my concert plans for 2015. Unless I'll be able to have a jowa this year, then we choose to travel instead. Or we can still choose to watch concerts together.
Post concert depression starts today!

Three Years

2. I wish I'd put more efforts on my concert ootd. I adore how some Swifties got creative and quirky. I felt old for that though. Meh
3. I left my seat and chose to stand in front of the barricade from lower box area. Below is the photo from my view.
4. I decided not to capture photos and videos because it will be out online anyway. I just enjoyed the moment.
5. I have to apologize to the Swifties beside me. If you may have heard my voice in your videos, please forgive me. I just have to sing my heart out. That was the time of my life.

9. Did that really happened? It was unreal. Take me back.

Three years ago, I chose not to watch a dream concert because of career frustration. After passing the board exam, I had a hard time searching for the first job in the industry. It was February of 2011 when Taylor Swift held her Speak Now concert in Manila and I am but a jobless fan envy with all other fan girls and boys who were able to experience the one of the best nights of their lives.
After three long years of hope, Red Tour finally comes to Asia. Taylor Swift will be breathing the same air I breathe on June 6!!!!! I just can't hide the excitement. I just heard God whispered "I told you,it'll be worth the wait. You deserve this best one." Here I am today, I had a good paying job that will allow me to buy the ticket to the show I missed three years ago.

The journey to having the precious ticket.

1. The tickets got sold out in 2 hours. I was in the ticket booth minutes after that 2 hour selling.
2. I reserved a ticket from the promoter. He confirmed my reservation. The day after, he told me it was already sold out too.
3. I bought a general admission ticket thru bidding. I bought it at almost 2x the original price. I claim the ticket at the far far away place of Las Piñas.
4. I reserved a patron pass from MOA Arena scalper. Few days before the concert, they were fired from the job.
5. I bought a lower box ticket.

The memories of #redtourmnl

Words from the dictionary aren't enough to describe how happy and grateful I am to have experience the concert. All things are just wonderful and fun and surreal. June 6 is diary worthy, one of the best life records, a story of dream come true.

1. Closest Swifties with me are my Nixter friends, officemate friend, and cousin.

6. The set list was bitin though.

8. EVERYTHING WAS JUST AWESOME AND CRAZY AND SUPERB.

After the concert.

I lost my iPhone. I rode the wrong transportation going home. Ah eh. Hihibels

LWWY

This was the song played in the avp of our Year End Party. This stuck in my head, and really had an impact on me.

live while we're young
one direction

Hey girl I'm waiting on ya, I'm waiting on ya.
Come on and let me sneak you out.
And have a celebration, a celebration.
The music up the windows down.

Yeah, we'll be doing what we do.
Just pretending that we're cool.
And we know it too (know it too).
Yeah, we'll keep doing what we do.
Just pretending that we're cool so tonight.

Lets go crazy, crazy, crazy till we see the sun.
I know we've only met but let's pretend it's love.
And never, never, never stop for anyone.
Tonight let's get some.
And live while we're young.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
And live while we're young.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Tonight let's get some,

And live while were young.

Hey girl it's now or never, it's now or never.
Don't over-think just let it go.
And if we get together, yeah get together.
Don't let the pictures leave your phone.
Oh oh.

Yeah, we'll be doing what we do.
Just pretending that we're cool so tonight.

Lets go crazy, crazy, crazy till we see the sun.
I know we've only met, but lets pretend it's love.
And never, never, never stop for anyone.
Tonight lets get some, and live while we're young.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Wanna live while we're young.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Tonight let's get some, and live while we're young.

And girl, you and I, we're about to make some memories tonight.

I wanna live while we're young.
We wanna live while we're young.

Let's go crazy, crazy, crazy till we see the sun.
I know we've only met but let's pretend it's love.
And never, never, never stop for anyone.
Tonight let's get some, and live while we're young.
Crazy, crazy, crazy till we see the sun.
I know we only met but lets pretend it's love.
And never, never, never stop for anyone.
Tonight lets get some, and live while we're young.

Wanna live, wanna live, wanna live while we're young.
Wanna live, wanna live, wanna live while we're young.
Wanna live, wanna live, wanna live while we're young.

Tonight lets get some.
“And live while we’re young”

crazy, crazy, crazy
Yes, I am.

Red Tune

This got to be my favorite song from Taylor Swift's RED album, so far.

Track: "All Too Well"
Her hidden code: MAPLE LATTES--totally referring to the awesomeness she and Jake Gyllenhaal were sipping on during their very publicized date.
Meaning?: This is basically this album's "Dear John" song but it's totally about Jake. She refers to a guy who wore glasses when he was young (like Jake did!), Jake's sister Maggie and the scarf she wore in their coffee date pics.

all too welltaylor swift
i walked through the door with youthe air was cold, but soMething About it felt like home somehowand i left my scarf there at your sister's houseand you've still got it in your drawer even now
oh your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gazewe're singing in the car, getting lost uPstateautumn Leaves falling down likE pieces into placeand i can picture it after alL these dAysand i know it's long gone, and That magic's noT here no morEand i might be okay but i'm not fine at all
cauSe there we are again on that little town streetyou almost ran the red cause you were lookin' over at mewind in my hair i was there i remember it all too well
photo album on the counteryour cheeks were turning redyou used to be a little kid with your glasses in a twin sized bedand your mother's telling stories about you on the tee ball teamyou taught me about your past thinking your future was me
and i know it's long gone and there was nothing else i could doand i forget about you long enough to forget why i needed to
cause there we are again in the middle of the nightwe're dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator lightdown the stairs, i was there i remember it all too well
well maybe we got lost in translationmaybe i asked for too muchbut maybe this thing was a masterpiecetill you tore it all uprunning scared, i was there i remember it all too well
and you call me up again just to break me like a promiseso casually cruel in the name of being honesti'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying herecause i remember it all, all, all...too well

Di...di naman talaga
Tayo mag-sinta
Pero gusto nila
Kahit ayaw mo
Bagay raw tayo

Kapag may tao
Ay nilalambing mo ako
Pero pag wala
Ay sumasama
Turing mo sakin
Ay parang hangin
Bitin na bitin

'Di nila alam
Na sa dulo ng tagpo
'Di na patok mga linya mo
Nag-iiba ang iyong asta
Hanggang sa susunod na eksena

Sana 'wag mo kong sisihin
Kung 'di ko kayang pigilin
Sabi mo na mahal mo ko
Ngunit 'di naman seryoso
Sana'y magkasingkulay
Ang drama at tunay na buhay ko
Ang tanging pag-asa ko
Ay nasa tambalang ito

(Sana'y magkatotoo...wooh)

Sana 'wag mo kong sisihin
Kung 'di ko kayang pigilin
Sabi mo na mahal mo ko
Ngunit 'di naman seryoso
Sana'y magkasingkulay
Ang drama at tunay na buhay ko
Ang tanging pag-asa ko
Ay nasa tambalang ito...

Back to Strangers

"I go to church alone to hear mass. On the other side, he is sitting with his lovely family. That's how we spent our Sunday individually long before we met. When we officially become a couple, I am never alone in mass. I sit next to him and his sister to my left. But today, just bring back the old days. I saw his parents and his siblings, they smiled to me. I saw him, he saw me. We were emotionless. We are back to being strangers."

This song.

Somebody That I Used To Know
Gotye

Now and then I think of when we were together,
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die,
Told myself that you were right for me,
But felt so lonely in your company,
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember.

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness,
Like resignation to the end,
Always the end,
So when we found that we could not make sense,
Well you said that we would still be friends,
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over.

But you didn't have to cut me off,
Make out like it never happened,
And that now we're nothing,
And I don't even need your love,
But you treat me like a stranger,
And that feels so rough,
No you didn't have to stoop so low,
Have your friends collect your records,
And then change your number,
I guess that I don't need that though,
Now you're just somebody that I used to know,
Now your just somebody that I used to know,
Now your just somebody that I used to know,
Now your just somebody that I used to know.

Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
And I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know...

But you didn't have to cut me off,
Make out like it never happened,
And that now were nothing,
And I don't even need your love,
But you treat me like a stranger,
And that feels so rough.
No you didn't have to stoop so low,
Have your friends collect your records,
And then change your number,
I guess that I don't need that though,
Now you're just somebody that I used to know,
Somebody,
I used to know,
Somebody,
Now your just somebody that I used to know,
Somebody,
I used to know,
Somebody,
Now your just somebody that I used to know,

I used to know
That I used to know

Lock and Load

Circa: September 2009

I remember my fan girling, gig days. Find me. 1:03

My cousin got longer exposure.

diamond shotgun
chicosci

blow out the candles,
dust off the knives, we fight
say a prayer for us,
they call us The Forgotten
we'll cross all their lines
we'll be the thorn in their side
a hail of bullets
we stand tall, stand tall

fly black hearts
into the sky
we're never meant to fall
and we'll touch all the lost stars

we're ghosts so they say
just burn their truths to the ground
we're marching on and on
we're not ones to run away
so we hold hands
and watch the setting of their sun
break the silence
diamond shotgun
from the top of our lungs
no time to waste
we're gonna shout it out
we're gonna shout it out

fly black hearts
into the sky
we're never meant to fall
and we'll touch all the lost
start to see, start to feel
fly black hearts
into the sky
we're never meant to fall
and we'll touch all the lost stars

PAYPHONE
Maroon 5 feat. Whiz Kalifa

I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone
Baby it's all wrong, where are the plans we made for two?

Yeah, I, I know it's hard to remember
The people we used to be
It's even harder to picture
That you're not here next to me
You say it's too late to make it
But is it too late to try?
And in our time that you wasted
All of our bridges burned down

I've wasted my nights
You turned out the lights
Now I'm paralyzed
Still stuck in that time when we called it love
But even the sun sets in paradise

I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone
Baby it's all wrong, where are the plans we made for two?

If happy ever after did exist
I would still be holding you like this
All those fairytales are full of sh*t
One more stupid love song I'll be sick

You turned your back on tomorrow
Cause you forgot yesterday
I gave you my love to borrow
But just gave it away
You can't expect me to be fine
I don't expect you to care
I know I've said it before
But all of our bridges burned down

I've wasted my nights
You turned out the lights
Now I'm paralyzed
Still stuck in that time when we called it love
But even the sun sets in paradise

I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone
Baby it's all wrong, where are the plans we made for two?

If happy ever after did exist
I would still be holding you like this
All those fairytales are full of sh*t
One more stupid love song I'll be sick

Now I'm at a payphone...

[Wiz Khalifa]
Man work that sh*t
I'll be out spending all this money while you sitting round
Wondering why it wasn't you who came up from nothing
Made it from the bottom
Now when you see me I'm stunning
And all of my cars start with the push up a button
Telling me the chances I blew up or whatever you call it
Switched the number to my phone
So you never could call it
Don't need my name on my show
You can tell it I'm ballin'
Swish, what a shame could have got picked
Had a really good game but you missed your last shot
So you talk about who you see at the top
Or what you could've saw
But sad to say it's over for
Phantom pulled up valet open doors
Wiz like go away, got what you was looking for
Now ask me who they want
So you can go and take that little piece of sh*t with you

I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone
Baby it's all wrong, where are the plans we made for two?

If happy ever after did exist
I would still be holding you like this
All those fairytales are full of sh*t
One more stupid love song I'll be sick

Now I'm at a payphone...

This song is EPIC. You are amazing, Adam Levine. Maroon 5, for the win.

Inch by Inch

I remember two years ago when I don't bother getting to know you.
I regret the days when I wasn't became so interested to you.
My heart just melts when I unexpectedly saw you yesterday.
Our world seems to get closer now.
But my heart was broken, because I found out that you are taken.

Can I just dedicate this nakakaLSS song to him.

John Mayer

Friends, Countrymen, Manila. Hi guys! :)
Feel free to join in Manila Concert Scene: John Mayer Live in Manila Contest. For contest details, click the link pretty please. :)

And do follow Manila Concert Scene in your favorite sites:
Facebook. Tumblr.  Twitter.  Plurk. Youtube. Blogspot.

My much loved song of John Mayer is Daughters. It's too simple yet too perfect, from lyrics, to melody, to the meaning of the song, to John Mayer's voice which is terribly awesome. I love it because it talks about a girl, particularly a daughter, and I am one. For me, the significant message of Daughters is in the chorus that says " Fathers, be good to your daughters, Daughters will love like you do, Girls become lovers who turns into mothers, So mothers, be good to your daughters too." It says that fathers need to cherish their relationship with their daughters as they grow up, because it will affect on how a lady will perceive a man on adulthood. In a relationship, a girl is fragile yet tough, it is important for fathers (and mothers) to show their daughters a good perspective about love, because little girls will eventually be lovers in the future.
